Arne Pfaus is a partner at GRIP LEGAL specializing in IT & data protection as well as litigation/arbitration. He advises companies and entrepreneurs, especially start-ups, predominantly in IT law and data protection-related legal issues. He also provides consulting services in all areas of commercial law and general civil law. One of Arne’s particular specialties is advising clients on all issues connected with software contracts, e-commerce and telecommunications. Apart from providing constructive advice, he enforces clients’ claims with litigation and defends against claims targeting them. In addition, Arne represents clients on data privacy issues, including relevant labor law implications.

Arne studied law at the University of Osnabrück where he already focused on IT law. Apart from his technical knowledge of the IT area resulting from a variety of different professional activities, clients particularly appreciate the commercial orientation of his consulting services. Arne undertook a course of business training to provide this additional benefit to clients. After completing his referendarship (Referendariat) at the Higher District Court of Oldenburg he began his legal career with his own law firm. Arne consolidated his knowledge of IT law with part time studies of information technology law at the University of Oldenburg where he gained the academic title of Master of Laws (LL.M.) in 2012. Since 2017 Arne has been a lawyer at the medium-sized, interdisciplinary consultancy Abels Decker Kuhfuss & Partner mbB in Düsseldorf before deciding to continue his consultancy practice as a founding partner of GRIP LEGAL.

In his free time Arne Pfaus is a sportsman and has taken part successfully in a number of marathons.
